When overseeing a claim on your behalf with an Insurer, we will endeavour to achieve the best possible settlement outcome. We will seek full entitlement on your behalf according to the policy conditions and limits.
DEDICATED CLAIMS TEAM
When the need arises for a claim to be lodged on your Insurance policy, First Peoples Insurance has a full-time and dedicated claims team that will handle the claim process from start to finish on your behalf. For Home
Damaged item/s: Very important, especially if you need to throw the item away – e.g. Food Spoilage.
For Motor
Damage to your vehicle and any other involved.
Location of the accident, including line markings, signage or traffic lights.
Photos of your driver’s licence (front and back), including any other vehicle’s drivers licence if there’s a third party involved.
What to do if an incident occurs
1. If damage or loss of property occurs:
- Ensure the remainder of your property is not exposed to further loss or damage.
- Immediately contact First Peoples Insurance Brokers.
- If the loss is a result of burglary, theft or malicious damage notify your nearest police station immediately.
- Obtain quotes for the repair and/or replacement of the damaged or lost property.
- If a major loss occurs, your insurer will appoint an assessor to inspect the damage and authorise repairs or replacement. In the meantime, do not dispose of any salvage without authorisation from your insurer or the assessor appointed to act on their behalf
2. If a claim is made by a third party:
- DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
- Ask the third party to submit their claim in writing.
- Immediately contact First Peoples Insurance
- Forward all documentation received to First Peoples Insurance.
3. If damage is sustained by insured motor vehicles:
- DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
- Immediately contact First Peoples Insurance as some insurers allow telephone lodgement of motor vehicle claims.
- If you have a preferred repairer, obtain a quote for repairs, otherwise, contact First Peoples Insurance for the names of insurer-recommended repairers in your area.
- For claims lodged via First Peoples Insurance’s office, please forward all documentation, including the claim form to us.
